What is the NDIS?
The National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is a comprehensive support system dedicated to assisting individuals with permanent and significant disabilities. Established in 2016, its primary aim is to aid the approximately 14% (around 4.3 million) of Australians facing severe functional impairments and requiring extensive support.
Over the next five years, the NDIS is projected to allocate over $22 billion annually to benefit an estimated 500,000 Australians.
